A tragic incident unfolded in Sheepshead Bay last week, resulting in the death of a 77-year-old Brooklyn grandfather Iosif Lontsman, - NY Post writes.

The incident occurred during a dispute over a parking space at Avenue W and Ocean Avenue. Iosif Lontsman, a devoted grandfather originally from Kazakhstan, exited his Subaru Forester to address the situation with the driver of another vehicle, a 43-year-old woman. Tragically, as he stepped out, his own car, still in drive, struck him, trapping him between the Subaru and the woman's Nissan Altima.

According to his son, Iosif Lontsman was known for his calm demeanor and respectful attitude, traits he exemplified even in tense situations. His son, Mark, emphasized that his father would never raise his voice, especially not towards a woman, reflecting his deep-seated respect for others.

A worker at a local store said the driver of the Nissan had tears and tried to help, to no avail.  “The lady, she tried to help,” said the worker, who asked not to be identified. “She put her foot on the brake. “She was shouting, ‘Help, please help, please help,'” she said.

He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead.

No charges were filed.
