An abandoned car at 740 Hendricks Street in East New York has been occupying a limited parking space on the street for several months, Channel 12 Brooklyn reports.

This is an area where many elderly people live.

The car is a green Lincoln sedan with expired temporary license plates from Texas, which state that it is a Toyota. It also has expired registration in Connecticut.

Residents say that the tires have been flat for several months, the owner is nowhere to be found, and some animals call the car their home.

Residents filed several complaints at 311 to have the car removed, but the fines posted in the car were removed. They also filed complaints, citing the problems of double parking caused by an abandoned car.
The car remained in the same place.

DSNY highlights the joint efforts of the NYPD and DSNY to find abandoned vehicles, and 13,000 units have been removed since operations began last year.
