Three people were injured, one critically, in a traffic accident near Herald Square, ABC News 7 reports.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday at 34th Street near Sixth Avenue.

One of the victims sustained severe head injuries, while another is in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle was also hospitalized for injuries.

A scooter was found on the ground, but it is unclear whether the driver caused the crash or was a victim.
