A Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) bus crashed into a Burger King in Brooklyn early Thursday morning after the driver experienced a medical episode while on duty, ABC 7 News reports.

Surveillance footage captured the incident, which occurred around 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of Fort Hamilton Parkway and Dahill Road.

According to police, the 60-year-old driver lost control of the B16 bus, which crossed the median and collided with the side of the Burger King.

MTA officials believe the driver had a cardiac episode. He was transported to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.

Two women, aged 60 and 23, were on the bus at the time but declined medical attention. One of the passengers, Valorie Terner, rushed to help the driver, who was moaning and passed out. She recounted the events, stating, "The bus started speeding up quickly. Before I knew it, we were in Burger King."

By 5 a.m., the MTA bus had been removed from the restaurant, leaving a large hole where the storefront windows, tables, and chairs once stood.

The Buildings Department issued a full vacate order for the restaurant and instructed the building owner to hire an engineer to assess the structural stability of the structure. However, the steel columns remained intact.
