NYPD: Off-duty police officer shot in Long Island City, Queens

The NYPD is investigating whether one of them was injured being off-duty during a shooting in Queens, NYPD informs.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Sunday near the intersection of 43rd Avenue and 21st Street in Long Island City.
According to information provided by the New York Police Department, a 25-year-old man was shot in the lower left limb. He was promptly hospitalized, and doctors assess his condition as stable.
The victim is a New York police officer who was not on duty at the time of the incident and was grazed by a bullet.
The officers were interviewing witnesses to establish the causes and circumstances of the incident. It is not clear yet.
A green car with an obvious bullet hole in the front window was found near the scene of the incident.
Police say two suspects involved in the shooting were arrested near Union Street and 33rd Avenue.
Currently, officers are conducting a thorough search of the surrounding area to find the possible evidence and study the recordings from surveillance cameras around. The Police try to establish the reasons and motives of this crime.
