A pedestrian was fatally struck by a box truck in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon, ABC News informs.

Police responded to the incident at 4th Avenue and 60th Street in Sunset Park shortly before 2:30 p.m.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was reportedly walking on the sidewalk when he was hit and pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck's 53-year-old driver stayed at the scene and was transported to the hospital, where he is expected to recover.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
