Police are investigating two hit-and-run crashes within hours of one another in Queens, - ABC 7 News reports.

The first incident unfolded just past 10 p.m. on Monday in Rego Park, where a 63-year-old woman was struck while crossing Queens Boulevard. The vehicle, a black BMW traveling north at the intersection of 63rd Drive, fled immediately after the collision. The victim sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment. Subsequently, the driver involved in this crash surrendered at the 112th Precinct. Pending charges await as the investigation progresses.

Earlier in the day, around 5:25 p.m., a 55-year-old man fell victim to another hit-and-run on Rockaway Point Boulevard. In this case, a driver operating a gray Honda CRV fled the scene after the collision. The injured individual was transported to Brookdale Hospital and is currently in stable condition. Authorities suspect this incident may have been fueled by road rage.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.

Law enforcement urges anyone with pertinent information regarding the drivers or vehicles involved to come forward and assist in the investigation.
