Police searching for a suspect after a 14-year-old girl was shot in head in the Bronx

A 14-year-old girl is undergoing rehabilitation after being shot in the face in the Bronx on Sunday night, NYPD informs.

The incident occurred on Sunday at about 5:25 a.m. on East 161st Street, near Jackson Avenue.

Police officers who arrived at the scene found a gunshot wound in the cheek area of the teenager.

The medical team took the victim to the Harlem hospital, her condition is assessed as stable.

Currently, law enforcement agencies are establishing the causes of the incident and are searching for the suspect.
