Three people lost their lives after a fire tore through a home in Queens overnight, ABC News 7 reports.

The deadly blaze broke out around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday at a two-story house on 208th Street near 34th Avenue.

Footage from the scene shows firefighters working to extinguish the flames. Initially, authorities believed the fire started on the second floor, but FDNY officials later stated during a Sunday morning press conference that the blaze likely began in the cellar.

According to the NYPD, a 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two women, ages 54 and 90, were transported to nearby hospitals, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

FDNY Fire Commissioner Robert Tucker addressed the tragedy during the press conference.

"It's unacceptable to me, and we're going to do everything at the FDNY to make sure that fire deaths stay low. We're certainly thinking about the families that are affected by this," Tucker said.

Officials confirmed that no vehicles were blocking fire hydrants during the response.

This comes after recent incidents in which parked cars obstructed firefighters’ access to hydrants, including during a deadly fire at a Buddhist temple in the Bronx and another fatal blaze at a Brooklyn apartment building.

More than 100 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to battle the flames.

Fire marshals are now investigating the cause of the fire.
