A woman was struck by a bullet in the forehead while inside her apartment in the Bronx, ABC News 7 informs.

The gunfire came from an apartment above hers in the building.

The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. Sunday on Purdy Street in the Parkchester area.

The 55-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Police have detained six individuals for questioning.

No charges have been filed at this time.
