School bus crash in Yorktown - 5 students injured, driver critical

In Yorktown on Friday morning, several students sustained minor injuries after their school bus was involved in a collision with another vehicle, according to Westchester County Police, - ABC7 writes.

 

The accident occurred before 9:30 a.m. and authorities have announced that Route 132 will be shut down between Barger and Wildwoods streets for further investigation.

 

Five high school students were aboard the bus when the incident occurred and were subsequently transported to Westchester Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

 

The bus driver was also taken to the hospital for observation.

 

The driver of the SUV involved in the crash is currently in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center after emergency medical services discovered him unconscious in the vehicle.

 

Officials suspect that the SUV driver may have experienced a medical emergency, based on their initial investigation.
