Three firefighters were injured while fighting a fire that broke out in an empty house in Queens, ABC News informs.

The house at 43 Beach Street, in the Rockaway neighborhood, caught fire on Wednesday around 3:45 a.m.

The flames quickly spread throughout the building.

The fire was so intense that firefighters had to leave the house and fight the fire from the outside. The three firefighters sustained minor injuries and received medical attention.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

The house has been empty for several years.
