A fire engulfed a home in Queens on Sunday, claiming the life of one person, ABC News7 reports.

According to the FDNY, the blaze broke out in the attic of a residence on 110th Avenue, located between Springfield Boulevard and 221st Street in Jamaica, shortly after 3:30 p.m.

Firefighters discovered the victim, a man who reportedly lived alone, deceased in a bedroom of the house.

The fire was brought under control within an hour.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
