15-year-old girl struck and critically injured while getting off bus in Yonkers

On Thursday (March 7th) afternoon in Yonkers, a 15-year-old is in critical condition following a collision with a car while while getting off bus, - Eyewitness news ABC 7 says.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Yonkers Avenue and Dunwoodie Street around 3 p.m. The impact propelled the teenager over the car and across the street, leaving her with serious injuries.
Witnesses described the scene as alarming, with Yonkers resident William Rossa expressing shock upon seeing the injured student lying on the ground. The victim was subsequently transported to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment.
Fellow student Mischa Holmberg recounted the distressing moment of witnessing the collision from a nearby window, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
According to police reports, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz was observed traveling at a high speed. Although the incident is not classified as a hit and run, details regarding the driver remain undisclosed as the investigation continues.
