15-year-old scooter passenger killed in Bronx crash with SUV

A 15-year-old girl was killed when the scooter she was riding on collided with an SUV in the Bronx on Tuesday, - NBC New York informs.

The crash happened just after noon at West 192nd Street and University Avenue in the Fordham neighborhood. A Honda Pilot, driven by a 22-year-old woman, struck the scooter, leaving the two teens on it unconscious and unresponsive in the street.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The 18-year-old driver of the scooter was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with critical injuries. He was later taken into police custody, with charges pending.

The SUV driver remained at the scene. An investigation is ongoing
