2 firefighters injured in apartment fire in Belmont

Authorities report that a fire ignited on the sixth floor of 2345 Prospect Ave. in Belmont shortly before 1:30 a.m. early Monday morning, Channel 12 reports.

 

According to the FDNY, two firefighters were injured while responding to the apartment blaze. 

 

After successfully extinguishing the flames, the injured firefighters were taken to the hospital for medical attention. 

 

At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently under investigation.
