2 people in critical condition after fire destroys home in Laconia, Bronx

Two individuals are in critical condition following a fire that erupted at a home in the Bronx late Saturday night, ABC 7 News reports.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at 2925 Throop Avenue around 11:30 p.m. and managed to bring it under control after midnight.

The victims were transported to Jacobi Medical Center with critical injuries. Additionally, a firefighter was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

The FDNY reports that hazmat teams are examining an e-bike found at the scene. Over 100 fire and EMS personnel responded to the incident.

Fire marshals are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
