Three people were injured, including two critically, after their Tesla crashed into a building and caught fire in Elizabeth, New Jersey, - ABC News 7 reports.

The accident occurred on Trumbull Street just before 9 a.m. on Friday.

One individual was transported to University Hospital in critical condition, another was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, and the third person sustained minor injuries.

Once the fire was extinguished, the Tesla was found severely mangled and was towed away.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, and only limited details have been released so far.
