A multi-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Brentwood in Suffolk County on Long Island left at least one person seriously injured, according to police. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. on Express Drive South, between Washington and Hudson Avenues, when a car collided with two parked vehicles, News 12 Long Island reports.
Authorities reported that the seriously injured individual was hospitalized. The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Edin Quiones, and a 16-year-old passenger, Xannel Avalo, were also hospitalized with serious injuries. A 14-year-old passenger sustained injuries but is expected to recover.
Brentwood resident Scott Tyrrel told News 12 that he was awakened by the crash when the car struck his fence and nearly hit his motorhome. Tyrrel noted that speeding on Express Drive South has been a persistent problem.
"It's nightly, it's constant, there's always drag racing. On the weekends we get quads, and motorcycles doing wheelies down the block, sometimes 50 of them at a time - it's a circus," he said.
