Six people were injured in a two-car crash early Monday morning on the Hutchinson River Parkway, including an elderly woman who sustained serious injuries, ABC News 7 reports.
The collision occurred just after midnight in the northbound lanes near Lincoln Avenue in Rye Brook.
According to a preliminary police investigation, a woman, approximately 74 or 75 years old, was driving in the wrong direction when she collided with another vehicle. She suffered life-threatening injuries but is expected to survive. The other individuals involved in the crash are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Westchester County Police reported that the victims in the second vehicle were a family from Connecticut. Traffic in the area, which had been diverted to the Lincoln Avenue exit during the night and early morning hours, resumed around 7 a.m.
