A man has been arrested after he abducted a six-year-old child on a Coney Island street and threw him at his parents when they chased him, according to the New York Police Department.
On Sunday evening, the streets were filled with people enjoying the last hours of the holiday weekend.
Roy Gantt, Sharon Robinson and their son Rah'Shem Gantt were shopping for popcorn at the corner of Stillwell and Surf Streets. At this moment a stranger dressed from head to toe in black and wearing a top hat suddenly grabbed Ra'shem and threw him to the ground while his parents chase him down.

The incident was captured on video.
Gantt said he and the boy's mother chased the man and held him for about four minutes until police arrived.
The streets were full of witnesses, and several people stayed with the crying boy and his little sister while his parents ran after the suspect and grabbed him.
"When the police arrived, they thought we were attacking someone for no reason. 10-15 people came up to us and confirmed our correctness," Roy Gantt said.
After an examination at the Coney Island Hospital, the six-year-old child was declared healthy, although his father stated that he never wanted to return to Coney Island.
Police have charged 36-year-old Jonathan Robalino with assault and attempted kidnapping.
Police said the suspect had previously confronted police and remained in custody.
