Fire erupts in East New York store, spreading to apartment above

A fire erupted early Tuesday morning in a Metro PCS store on New Jersey Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn, and spread to the apartment above, FDNY reports.

The blaze broke out just before 1 a.m., quickly engulfing the store before extending to the upper residence.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
