Authorities are on the lookout for the driver involved in a hit-and-run collision in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which resulted in the death of one man. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Monday, February 27 of 2024, at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Lorimer Street, - Eyewitness news ABC 7 writes.

Reportedly, the driver of a red Mercedes-Benz sedan disregarded a red light while traveling south on Harrison Avenue, resulting in a collision with an MTA bus. The impact caused the passenger in the sedan, identified as 33-year-old Alex Caba-Guitierrez, to be ejected from the vehicle. Following the crash, the driver of the Mercedes fled the scene. Additionally, one of the bus's passengers, a 41-year-old man, was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.

In the aftermath, debris from the sedan, shattered glass, and damage to a Citibike kiosk were observed strewn across the street corner during the early hours of Tuesday.

As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials are actively searching for the driver of the Mercedes sedan.
