This week’s MTA Heroes are a group of Long Island Rail Road employees who sprang into action to save a family from a fire, ABC News 7 reports.

The six-man crew—Craig Laucella, Brendan DiThomas, Shawn Cavanaugh, James Bove, Chris Flood, and Steve Munday—are part of the high-tension department.

While working near the Hicksville LIRR station, they noticed smoke billowing from a nearby house.

Without hesitation, they rushed to the scene, helped the family to safety, and grabbed a hose to combat the flames until firefighters arrived.

The crew also assisted in clearing debris from the back of the house to prevent the fire from spreading further.
