Authorities have taken a man into custody following a subway slashing incident early Monday morning, ABC News 7 reports.
The attack occurred on a northbound C train in Midtown just before 1:30 a.m. According to police, a 48-year-old man was slashed in the neck during the altercation.
The injured man managed to leave the train at the 50th Street Station and was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he is expected to recover.
The suspect remained on the train and exited at the 59th Street-Columbus Circle station. He is currently being treated for a hand injury but has not yet been charged.
Investigators have not disclosed what may have led to the incident.
