Man in critical condition after being hit by car in Melrose, the Bronx

A man is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in Melrose, according to police, Channel 12 Brooklyn News informs.

The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. at East 149th Street and Morris Avenue. First responders quickly transported the 61-year-old man to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
