A man was hospitalized after being set on fire on the subway, according to police, - ABC News7 reports.
The incident occurred Saturday just before 3 p.m. on the 1 train at Houston Street. Police report that the suspect threw an unknown flammable substance on the victim as the train was pulling into the station, igniting the victim's shirt.
The victim sustained burns to his upper torso, chest, and neck and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene but was later captured at Canal Street and Renwick Street.
Charges are currently pending, and the motive for the attack remains unknown.
