A man was killed after being clipped by a box truck and then hit again by an SUV while crossing a street in Brooklyn, police reported, - NBC New York writes.

The accident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights. According to the police, the driver of the box truck was traveling east on Atlantic Avenue when the pedestrian stepped off the sidewalk into the right lane of traffic. The truck's passenger side mirror struck the man, knocking him to the ground, and the truck then ran over him.

Immediately afterward, a 2012 Acura MDX, driven by a 72-year-old woman, also hit the man. Both drivers remained at the scene.

Emergency Medical Services responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
