Man struck and killed in possible hit-and-run crash in Chinatown today

A tragic incident unfolded in Chinatown Manhattan on Wednesday morning, March 6th, as a man, believed to be in his 30s, lost his life in a suspected hit and run, according to Eyewitness news ABC 7.
Discovered unconscious and non-responsive at the junction of Canal and Lafayette streets shortly before 5 a.m., the victim remained unidentified. Despite efforts to save him, he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
According to detectives, it is presumed that the man was attempting to cross Canal Street when he was hit by a black truck, which was observed heading eastbound on Canal Street.
