NYPD: driver arrested after hitting pedestrian overnight in Flatlands

Police reported that a Flatlands driver was arrested and charged after hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene overnight, channel 12 Brooklyn reports. 


The NYPD stated that the incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. on Flatbush Avenue, where the driver, who was in a Jeep, struck the victim. 


The driver fled the scene, but officers caught him a few blocks away from the incident.


The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County and is expected to recover. Charges against the driver are pending.
