A pedestrian was fatally struck in Brooklyn early Thursday morning, ABC News 7 reports.
Police reported that the victim, 49-year-old Felix Mendez of Lafayette Avenue, was found shortly before 3:10 a.m. at the intersection of Bedford Avenue and Kosciusko Street. He was pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital.
The NYPD stated that no witnesses have come forward, and detectives are investigating the incident as a potential hit-and-run.
Local business employees on Bedford Avenue told Eyewitness News they noticed the area was cordoned off when they arrived for work. One individual mentioned that this is the second incident of its kind in the area within the past few weeks.
Authorities are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the neighborhood to gather more information about the incident.
