In Queens, a 16-year-old boy, identified as Sincere Jazmin, has died after being shot in the chest,  ABC News informs.

The incident occurred on Wednesday shortly after Jazmin and another teenager disembarked from the Q83 bus. Law enforcement officials indicate that the shooter was apparently lying in wait

Police responding to a 911 call about a shooting on Liberty Avenue in Jamaica at approximately 2:40 p.m. discovered the victim unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the torso.

Jazmin was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are investigating a potential link between the shooting and an ongoing dispute at school.

Surveillance footage shows the victim walking along Liberty Avenue after the shooting, clutching his chest. He then entered a nearby deli before collapsing.

A deliveryman alerted emergency services. Deli employees reported that the victim did not speak or request assistance, and they were unaware of the shooting.

The shooting occurred near a body shop, where security cameras captured a brief altercation.

Police executed a search warrant at a residence on 196th Street in St. Albans on Wednesday, but no arrests were made.

Authorities are actively searching for the shooter, described as wearing a black vest over a gray hoodie, a black backpack, and a mask.

The public is urged to contact the police with any relevant information.
