Rockland County couple injured on turbulent Singapore Airlines flight that left 1 dead

A Rockland County family experienced severe injuries during a Singapore Airlines flight that hit turbulence earlier this week, - ABC News 7 reports. 

 

Drew Kessler, his wife Vicki, and their two sons from North Haverstraw were on board flight SQ321 from London to Singapore when it encountered severe turbulence, prompting an emergency landing in Bangkok.

 

Drew Kessler shared on Facebook that he sustained a broken neck, while his wife suffered a broken back. Their sons were unharmed. Kessler, the Treasurer of Rotary International, and his family were en route to the Rotary International Convention in Singapore, an event attracting over 13,000 attendees from 120 countries.

 

Officials reported that 85 passengers were taken to various hospitals in Bangkok, with 19 treated for injuries. The flight had 211 passengers and 18 crew members. Tragically, 73-year-old British citizen Geoff Kitchen lost his life in the incident.
