SUV crashes into MTA bus in the Bronx

A driver is in custody after attempting to flee from police during a traffic stop and crashing into an MTA bus in the Bronx, - ABC 7 News reports.

The crash occurred just before 5 p.m. at East 204 Street and Valentine Avenue. According to police, officers were attempting a car stop at the location when a grey SUV bypassed two cars and ran a red light, colliding with an accordion-style MTA BX2 bus.

The driver refused medical attention but was later arrested.

Two bus passengers are being treated by EMS; their conditions are currently unknown.

Police operations are still underway.
