A 16-year-old was injured while subway surfing in Queens on Saturday night, ABC News 7 reports.
The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. at the Briarwood station near Queens Boulevard and Main Street.
According to officials, the teenager was riding on top of an F train when he fell, sustaining injuries to his legs. He was conscious when first responders transported him to the hospital.
The MTA has been actively working to discourage subway surfing, including broadcasting recorded messages at stations. These messages, voiced by young people, warn: "Ride inside, stay alive."
