An 18-year-old was killed, and another was injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter in Paterson, New Jersey, according to police, ABC News 7 informs.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Madison Avenue. One of the teens was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a hospital for treatment, authorities reported.

Information about the vehicle involved and potential charges has not yet been released.
