Two pedestrians injured as car mounts sidewalk in Queens crash

Early Sunday morning in Queens, two pedestrians were hospitalized after a car careened onto the sidewalk, - as reported by NBC New York.

 

The incident unfolded just before 5 a.m. on Steinway Street on April 8th. between 25th and 28th avenues in Queens.

 

A red sedan traveling southbound on Steinway Street suddenly swerved onto the sidewalk, crashing into an outdoor dining area and a parked car. The impact also struck two women pedestrians, ages 22 and 32, who were then transported to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

 

At the scene, authorities arrested the driver, identified as 30-year-old Whitney Walker. Walker faces charges of vehicular assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and DWI, as stated by the police.
