A recently surfaced video captures the harrowing moment when New York Jets cornerback Brandin Echols loses control of his Dodge Charger Hellcat, hurtling down the road at 84 mph, ultimately forcing another motorist off the road. The BMW is sent airborne, crashing over a guardrail and into a nearby field, - NY Post informs.

Livingston resident Stephen Gilberg, aged 51, asserts he suffered partial paralysis as a result of the April 26, 2022, incident and has initiated legal action against Echols and the Jets.

The high-speed collision occurred around 2 p.m. on Columbia Turnpike, close to Morristown Airport, mere minutes from the Jets’ practice facility in Florham Park, NJ. Gilberg, the injured party, describes the crash and its consequences as an enduring trauma.

In a 10-second dashcam recording obtained by The NY Post (link is below), Echols is seen driving the 2021 Hellcat, attempting to overtake Gilberg's 2018 BMW X5 from the left. Suddenly, the muscle car swerves right, colliding with the driver's side of the Beemer, sending it careening over the guardrail.

According to the victim, the BMW lands upside down in a marshy area. Gilberg remains trapped inside the overturned vehicle for an hour until emergency services are able to extricate him, as per his legal representative.

The collision inflicts broken ribs upon Gilberg, leaving him with no sensation or mobility in both hands and his right leg, necessitating spinal surgery, according to police reports. Gilberg states he is undergoing ongoing treatment for his injuries.

An investigation reveals that Echols was traveling at 84 mph, exceeding the 50-mph speed limit by a significant margin, just five seconds prior to the collision, as per police records.

Echols was alone, and was not injured.
