Justin Timberlake has already pled guilty to driving while ability impaired (DWAI), and it seems that's where the story ends for the public—because the footage from his arrest likely won’t be released, TMZ informs.
TMZ requested the body cam footage from Timberlake’s June 18 traffic stop and arrest, but the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office informed them that the video wouldn't be made public, as both Timberlake’s legal team and prosecutors agreed to seal it.
It appears that this mutual agreement prevents anyone outside of the legal parties involved from accessing the footage.
As previously reported, Timberlake pled guilty last week in a Sag Harbor courthouse to a minor DWAI offense. He’s been ordered to perform 25 hours of community service and will create a public service announcement discouraging drinking and driving.
During his court appearance and in a later statement to the media, Timberlake admitted to falling short of his personal standards and vowed to help raise awareness to prevent drunk driving.
The arrest occurred in June after police say Timberlake ran a stop sign and swerved on the road while leaving The American Hotel after an evening with friends.
Notable moments from the arrest reportedly include the officer not recognizing Timberlake, and Timberlake expressing concern that the arrest could impact his tour.
Unless the seal order is lifted, it seems the public won’t be seeing the footage anytime soon.
