A fatal wrong-way collision between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed at least one life in Orange County. The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on Wednesday in the westbound lanes of Route 17, just beyond the Phillipsburg Road overpass in Goshen, ABC 7 News reports.

Authorities say the car was traveling in the wrong direction when it collided head-on with the tractor-trailer. The impact caused the car to burst into flames, which then spread to the truck’s cab.

The car’s driver was killed in the crash, while the condition of the truck driver remains unknown. New York State Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
