Two boys are recovering on Tuesday after a fireworks accident that landed them in a Brooklyn hospital.

The incident unfolded on Monday at approximately 7:30 p.m. at 57th Street and 9th Avenue in Borough Park area.

NYPD reports that the boys were handling fireworks, disregarding prior warnings.

An 11-year-old sustained injuries to his hand and chest, with authorities reporting the loss of several fingers.

A 13-year-old boy incurred injuries to his face and eyes.

Both children were promptly transported to nearby medical facilities and are expected to be OK.

No charges were filed.
